Spiritual Warfare Happens Today!!
Reading for Today: Lev. 1-3; Acts 13
Scripture:
Acts 13:8 - But Elymas the sorcerer opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith.
Observation: Paul, Barnabas and Mark came to the capital city of the Island of Cyprus.
They were sharing the word of God with Roman governor of Cyprus, Sergius Paulus.
While the disciples were trying to share the gospel with Sergius, a sorcerer, false prophet, child of the devil named Bar-Jesus claimed to be a spiritual descendant of Jesus and thus an heir to his magical powers. For Paul and Barnabas, the battle was on.
Application: The truth is, life is difficult, and sometimes even more so when you choose to follow Christ. There is a cost to sincere service for Christ. Never share your faith and you will never look like a fool. Never stand for righteousness on a social issue and you will never be rejected. Never reach out to the needy and you will never be taken advantage of. Never give your heart and it will never be broken. Seriously, follow Christ and you will experience a gamut of sorrows almost completely unknown to the unbelievers. But I know, as a follower of Christ - I have the privilege of experiencing peace that passes all understanding. There is no greater feeling than to be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit. The greatest role in my life as a believer is to help bring salvation to the ends of the earth.
Thru Christ we are more than conquerors!
Prayer: Give me the strength to continue to step forward and serve you Lord.
Allow me to keep my eyes vertical and not on my circumstances.
Thank you Lord that you are king of kings and Lord of Lords!!!
