The Great Promise Keeper

Scriptures for today Leviticus 23, 24; Psalm 24; Acts 21

Psalm 24:5,6 "He will receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Such is the generation of those who seek the face of the God of Jacob."

I've been studying through Genesis this year and have gleaned so much wisdom from my great friend Abraham. He has taught me so much about waiting on God's promised. Did you now that Abraham waited 25 years for his some Isaac. God made a promise to Abraham a son (Genesis 15:4) when he was 75 years old and Sarah did not have Isaac until Abraham was 100 years old. And I think my waiting period has been long and hard...haha!!

This verse promises that those who seek the face of the Lord will receive blessing and righteousness from God.  Just before in verses 1-4, the chapter praises God and asks the question, "who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy Place?" The answer is YOU! You may stand in His presence today and receive all that He has for you. I think a lot of times we miss what He has for us because we refuse to stop and take Him in.

Won't you take Him in today, whenever, wherever you are, just STOP and breath in the aroma of your God and savior and allow Him to life the burdens from you (Psalm 55:22) and replace them with support, and steadfastness.  There is nothing impossible or too hard for our God!   Especially on Valentines Day, allow the author of Love to romance you and carry you away!

  1. Amanda, you are so right - in the busyness of our life - we need to stop and breath in the aroma of God!
