Exodus 25-27; Acts 6
Scripture: Acts 6:10 "And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke."
Observation: "They" were a group of freed slaves who had set up their own local synagogue. Unable to argue facts with Stephen's wisdom and the Holy Spirit, they spread lies about him.
Application: Not everyone is looking for the truth. Many people simply want affirmation that what they believe is true or at least sufficient. Sometimes it's simply stubborn pride. We are called to tell the story and ask the Holy Spirit to open hearts and minds to the truth of Jesus. That is what Stephen did.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, empower me by Your Spirit to speak Your truth to anyone who will listen, regardless of the cost to me. Thank you for Stephen and all those who have, and still are today, giving their very lives to tell the truth.
